We're easy to find... just a few hundred yards east of exit 9 off of I89. We're right on route 2 on the south side of the road. Some of the wonderful things you'll find when you stop by are:

Breads (of course!)

Our entire line is available here every day, as well as a daily fruited bread not available anywhere else!

Pastries
You may know us for our breads, but since we opened the café last winter Jeremy, Hannah, and Brad have been creating an assortment of stunning, delectable goodies. Our quality standards are just as high for these as they are for our breads. Where else can you find a croissant or brioche made with Organic flour and Vermont Butter and Cheese butter? And it doesn't end there. Hannah has just begun making Danish pastry which will feature a rotating assortment of toppings, many of them locally-sourced. Currently, she's whipped up a lemon topping with pistachios (with organic fruit and nuts). The Pain au Chocolate features organic, fair trade (and delicious) chocolate; the ham and cheese croissant is filled with pastured-raised ham and Blythedale Farm gruyere. We adhere to the same unheard of standards for our cookies, scones, brioche tarts and sticky buns. We challenge you to find another bakery with pastries of this quality with nothing to hide on their ingredient list!

Sandwiches at Red Hen Café!
Our menu is expanding and we are have new options for your lunch menu. As a supplement to our soup and pastries, we now have sandwiches and salads. Fresh ingredients, Vermont products, and our own organic bread, fresh from the oven. A sample of what you will find:

• goat cheese, watercress and kosher salt on Waitsfield Common
• egg salad with fresh herbs & lettuce on 100% Whole Wheat
• thinly sliced ham, grainy mustard, VT cheddar & lettuce on baguette
• smoked salmon, capers, red onion & lettuce on Sprouternickel
• VT cheddar, sliced apples and chutney on Fat Tire
• thinly sliced salami, gruyere, grainy mustard & lettuce on baguette

Other lunch items
Every day we feature two varieties (one meat and one vegetarian) of soup from Sugar Snap in Burlington. The crew at Sugar Snap adhere to the same quality standards that we do for our baked goods. Many of the ingredients come fresh from their farm and, as with our own products, the list of ingredients has nothing to hide, which is all too rare these days. Most importantly, all of their soups will knock your socks off.

Other items
As the months go by, we will be adding more and more items to take home. Currently, some of these items include Red Hen t-shirts and hats, a selection of fine wines, local cheeses, and Laughing Moon Chocolates.
